Life in Fairfax Hills

Considered by its resident’s as one of ‘Raleigh’s Best Kept Secrets’, Fairfax Hills subdivision is an enclave of approximately 180 single family homes with lot sizes averaging half an acre or larger. Homes range in the $300’s – $700’s. Residents have the choice of living in two-story, split levels or hard to find ranch style homes.

Fairfax Hills is tucked away in the desirable Mid-town location off Millbrook and Falls of Neuse Roads in North Raleigh. Due to its close proximity to North Hills and wonderful location, builders have been purchasing some of these homes and building new construction.

What makes this neighborhood special are its residents. Several are original owners, although there has been robust real estate activity in the past couple of years. Homes are seeing a revitalization since many were originally built in the 1960’s, ready for new owners to put their finishing touches on these solidly built homes.

The neighborhood is split into zones with assigned volunteer Ambassadors that help to welcome new residents. The Zone Ambassadors also help to foster the community. Fairfax Hills also boasts a neighborhood park, complete with a playset, picnic tables, an open field play area and even a community garden.

Residents are encouraged to make annual contributions to the Park Association which helps to offset the cost of the upkeep of the park, sponsors an active Social Events calendar and the participation of the Neighborhood Watch Program. An active community with easy access to I-440 and I-40 as well as all forms of shopping including Fresh Market, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks and Costco come see what makes this neighborhood special.
