Historic-Like Charm in Chapel Hill’s Winmore

Winmore is a fairly medium-sized neighborhood with historic charm located only 10 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill and UNC Chapel Hill. Winmore prioritizes green living with luxury, but while maintaining a historic vibe. The homes are built as greenly as possible and many have outdoor space for gardens. There is also a community garden, fruit orchards, and 26 acres of natural wetlands that act as habitats for common NC wildlife, such as butterflies, Cardinals, and deer.

Residents also have access to community outdoor space and recreational activities. There is a large multi-purpose athletic field surrounded by greenery and rolling hills, a walking trail that goes along Bolin Creek, multiple village greens, two playgrounds, and a paved walkway that leads to the Greenway. Residents are also just a short drive to Chapel Hill’s popular Homestead Park, which has a few playgrounds, an area for dogs, some soccer and baseball fields, picnic areas, and two aquatic facilities.  Winmore residents can also enjoy the community’s pool and relaxing cabana area.

Just minutes down the street is not only downtown Chapel Hill’s exciting shops, restaurants, and entertainment, but also a town center that hosts fun community events throughout the year. Residents can even take a stroll past Andy Griffith’s old home. Residents are roughly 10 minutes from Highway I-40, which allows them to have a convenient commute to Research Triangle Park, Durham, or downtown Raleigh.

Winmore’s homes range is size and craftsman styles, including single family homes and town-homes. The homes are either fairly new or new construction, and feature wide front porches, garden areas, modern features and open floorplans. Some homes even feature upstairs balconies off bonus rooms or master bedrooms. The majority of the homes have three or more bedrooms and updated kitchens or bathrooms. Some are built similarly to town-homes, though are still their own, detached homes.
